7 Powerful Lessons from the Inspiring Kho Kho Journey of Mohammed Aiman Pasha
Introduction – Who is Mohammed Aiman Pasha?
Mohammed Aiman Pasha is a young and determined national-level Kho Kho athlete from Bhadravathi, Karnataka. At just 19 years old, he has already built an impressive sporting journey through hard work, discipline, and an unbreakable passion for the game. Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) at CRR PU and Degree College, Carmelaram, Bangalore under the sports quota, Aiman proudly represents Karnataka in national level tournaments.
Playing for Bangalore Pioneers Club under the mentorship of Mr. Venkatesh Reddy and the guidance of Coach Dileep Kumar S.C., Aiman continues to grow as a powerful player in the world of Kho Kho. With strong support from his father, Mr. Aslam Pasha, and his family, his journey reflects dedication, resilience, and the courage to chase big dreams.
1. A Childhood Dream That Began at the Age of Nine
Every athlete has a starting point, and for Aiman, that moment came when he was just nine years old. While studying in the 3rd standard at St. Charles English High School in Bhadravathi, he first stepped onto the Kho Kho ground under the guidance of Coach Mohammed Sir.
Watching his elder brother play the sport ignited a spark within him. Inspired by his brother’s dedication, Aiman decided to try Kho Kho himself. Very quickly, his natural agility and enthusiasm became visible. In the same year, he earned selection into the school’s primary team — a proud moment that planted the seeds of a promising sporting career.
2. Early Struggles That Built His Strength
Success rarely comes without challenges. Aiman’s journey was also filled with moments of disappointment. Despite practicing tirelessly and giving his best, he was not selected for the Sub-Junior National Championships multiple times.
These setbacks were painful, but they did not break his spirit. Instead, they shaped his mindset. He learned patience, discipline, and perseverance — qualities that define true athletes. Rather than giving up, Aiman used every disappointment as motivation to train harder and improve his performance.
3. The Turning Point – 41st Junior National Championship
A major breakthrough came during the 41st Junior National Kho Kho Championship held in West Bengal from 26th to 30th December 2022.
This tournament became one of the most important chapters of his career. Representing Karnataka, Aiman delivered an outstanding performance. His team secured the Bronze Medal, finishing in 3rd place. For Aiman, it was both his first and last Junior National Championship, making the achievement even more special.
His performance caught the attention of coaches, selectors, and senior players, giving him recognition and confidence to move forward in his journey.
4. Recognition and the Sports Authority of India Opportunity
After the impressive Junior Nationals performance, Coach Manohar Sir recognized Aiman’s talent and encouraged him greatly. This recognition boosted his confidence and opened new doors in his career.
Soon after, Aiman was selected for the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Sports Hostel trials and successfully earned a place at the SAI Sports Hostel in Chandargi, Belagavi.
During this phase, Coach Sujit played a vital role in shaping his abilities. He helped Aiman improve his agility, techniques, and match awareness. The professional training environment helped him grow into a stronger and smarter athlete.
Although the hostel later closed, the skills and experience he gained there became a strong foundation for his future.
5. Rising to the Senior Level at a Young Age
Even after attending international camps, Aiman initially missed selection for the international team. But his determination never faded. He continued training with dedication and focused on improving every aspect of his game.
Because of this persistence, he soon began competing in Senior National Championships at the young age of around 18. One of the proudest moments during this phase was when his team secured 2nd place in the South Zone Senior National Championship.
These achievements proved that consistent effort always leads to progress.
6. A Big Milestone – Ultimate Kho Kho and Mumbai Khiladis
Another historic moment in Aiman’s journey came when he was selected for Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2.
He joined the Mumbai Khiladis team and became the youngest player in the squad at just 17 years old. Coach Nitul Das recognized his potential during the Junior Nationals and trusted his abilities.
Playing in a professional league allowed Aiman to learn high-level strategies, professional discipline, and intense competition. This experience greatly strengthened his game and confidence.
7. Bangalore Pioneers – More Than Just a Club
After the SAI hostel closed, Aiman joined Bangalore Pioneers Club, a turning point that gave him stability and support.
Under the mentorship of Mr. Venkatesh Reddy, the club became like a family. Venkatesh Sir supported him financially, emotionally, and educationally during difficult times. His kindness and belief helped Aiman continue his journey without fear.
Training under Coach Dileep Kumar S.C., Aiman works on strength training, stamina conditioning, and strategic planning. The team has achieved many victories across Karnataka tournaments, and the club continues to shape talented players.
