Her journey into hockey began when she moved to a government girls’ school in Padampur. Inspired by her elder sister, a state-level hockey player, Navdeep developed a strong interest in the sport.

In her early school years, Navdeep actively participated in basketball and athletics along with hockey. However, hockey soon became her true calling.

After completing her education up to 8th class, she joined SL Public School, Padampur. Around the same time, she got the opportunity to appear for trials at Chandigarh Hockey Academy.

With the support of her parents, brother, and coach Sr. Gurdyal Singh, she prepared rigorously and successfully got selected.

From 9th to 12th class, Navdeep trained at Chandigarh Hockey Academy, where her game reached a higher level.

In 2011, she completed her 12th standard from Chandigarh Model Senior Secondary Girls’ School, Sector-18.
